FAQ
General
Will T120A automatically stop charging a battery after it is fully charged?
Will T120A automatically stop charging a battery after it is fully charged?
Yes. T120A follows a smart stepwise charging algorithm. When the battery is fully charged, TI20A will automatically stop charging it. There is no risk of overcharging. If you still keep the battery connected after it is fully charged, the charger will continuously monitor its status and will automatically resume charging when the battery voltage falls below the threshold.
Operation
How do I choose the charging current?
How do I choose the charging current?
The optimal charging current is up to the battery capacity. We recommend that the current be no greater than 20% of the battery capacity. For example, for a 100Ah battery, the charging current should not be greater than 20A.
Why do some batteries not charge properly?
Why do some batteries not charge properly?
In general, a 12V battery with a voltage below 8.5V may have been damaged and thus cannot get charged properly. You can try the SUPPLY mode for charging the battery.
In modes other than the SUPPLY mode, the device automatically disables power output upon battery disconnection. Is it possible to add a setting to enable or disable the automatic power output disabling function?
In modes other than the SUPPLY mode, the device automatically disables power output upon battery disconnection. Is it possible to add a setting to enable or disable the automatic power output disabling function?
A: The device is designed to automatically disable power output after the battery is disconnected, primarily for safety reasons. This is especially important in environments like repair workshops, where improper placement of battery clips could lead to a short circuit between the positive and negative poles. Although the device has short circuit protection, to ensure the normal working logic and a safe environment, we have adopted the current design logic.
Specifically, the design logic is as follows:
* First-time use: To ensure charging safety, please confirm the battery information, select the correct current and voltage, and then confirm to start charging. Since the device's output current is relatively high, choosing the appropriate current for charging is essential for optimal battery matching.
* SUPPLY mode (constant voltage mode): If you are unsure about the required current for the battery, you can use the SUPPLY mode for charging.
Will the power output also be interrupted in the 0V charging mode?
Will the power output also be interrupted in the 0V charging mode?
No. The power output is not interrupted in the SUPPLY mode (constant voltage mode). This mode is designed to maintain continuous power output regardless of battery connection status. The normal charging mode initiates the charging process only after a battery connection is established.
